Welcome to the Maroon Fest 2025, an embodiment of the rich Maroon heritage, celebrating the resilience, culture, and community of the Accompong Maroons.
Our festival marks the cessation of war and the signing of the peace treaty with British colonial authorities in 1738. Each year, we attract 5000-6000 visitors locally and internationally to join in our vibrant cultural performances, food, craft markets, and special awards.s.
OUR VISION
Our mission is to ensure that Accompong Day continues to thrive as a celebration of Maroon heritage, a platform for cultural exchange, and an opportunity for the world to witness the vibrant traditions of the Maroon community. We aim to attract attendees from diverse backgrounds and locations, fostering cultural understanding and unity.
This year, Maroon Fest 2025 invites you to journey with us under the theme "Echoes of the Past, Blueprint for the Future" - An ode to the rich fabric of our heritage and a commitment to a future where sustainability, growth, and cultural integrity walk hand in hand. We are preserving history while creating a roadmap for a future where our culture thrives sustainably.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
Our two-day annual festival, January 5 & 6, features a range of activities, including, but not limited to:
• The Young Warriors Competitions (camouflage, cross country and bow and arrow)
• Indigenous Link-up
• Captain Cudjoe Awards Ceremony
• Live Shows featuring prominent artistes, along with various cultural exhibitions
